Welcome to St Andrew's class page
Term 4 is all about plants, identifying wild and garden plants, looking at the parts of a plant, identify different trees and investigating what a plant needs to grow. We will be doing some gardening and planting! Our topic is called ‘Wild and Free’
Homework – please could you and your child create a pot of plants for us to identify and enjoy in our school garden throughout our topic. This can be simple, with one or two different plants in, or as complicated as you wish. We would like the pots to be brought in on Monday 2nd March, no earlier or later please. If you need some help please speak to one of us.
A wonderful woodland walk is planned for Thursday 21st March in the afternoon, parent helpers will be required so please save the date if you can. More details to follow nearer the time.
Our curriculum plan in other areas include:
English – writing our own ‘Overcoming the Monster’ story, instructional writing and explanation texts. Also, there will be a spelling and handwriting focus.
Maths – we will be starting with time then progressing with addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
RE – we will be looking into the Easter story and what it teaches Christians.
To end our topic we are hoping to put on a garden show, details to follow as the children think and plan.
To add to the excitement, we will have chicks hatching to celebrate new beginnings
